I think, though it was 30 years ago, we played the 1st Louisville Concert Series. Since then we have played it with tons of folks including Billy Payne from Little Feat and many more guests - this year in a 2-band show with Hazel Miller. Gonna celebrate all the good stuff!!

True story - The truck in our band photo - well I drove that truck up to Fairplay with Magic Music in 1974 and played a concert at the Alma Hotel…and just like that ol truck still having fun!

This will be my 25th year working for Telluride Bluegrass. Magic Music played 1975, 1976 with Tim, Dan and Sam and the boyz - and MM got to play Folks Fest in 2018 before Will Luckey passed. I played it with Newgrass Revival, Russell Smith and the Amazing Rhythm Aces, John Cowan and Chris Daniels & The Kings from 1980 to 1991 Friday Night Closer Set and then we did all those After Hour Jams (NOW NIGHTGRASS) with Lyle Lovett, Sam Bela, Peter, Mollie Vince Gil and so many more - then I’ve been the MC SINCE 2015. IT’S BEEN A TOTAL JOY and I’ve been asked to sit in with Leftover Salmon, Sam Bush, Younder so many more - and done sets with Washboard Chaz and Sam. Just don’t get much better dan dat!

Our first show is FREE on Thursday in The Town Green Park, 1015 Market St, Camden, SC 29020

Performance 6:00p-8:00pm and it is a part of the MAD Festival that also includes Dance - the first 30 mins (6:00p-6:30p) of the Thursday show will be the Power Company Collaborative (out of Columbia, SC) organizing an interactive dance performance that will hopefully carryover into having folks join in & dancing during your musical performance.

Denver Concerts On The Fly

THIS IS THE CONCERT SERIES LAST SUMMER SHOW FOR 2024 - and the KINGS ARE PLAYING with our ol’ pal Rick Lewis! It’s called the Denver Concerts on the Fly at DIA: WHERE - Park on the Plaza is located pre-security, is open to the public and is just steps from the RTD A Line station at DEN.

For those who choose to drive, the airport parking garage is a short walk to the Park on the Plaza and costs $7/hour. If driving to the event, guests are encouraged to park in the southern-most lot located adjacent to the Westin, on either the east or west side of the terminal
