So excited about this fun project with legendary singer/songwriter Mark Oblinger and his wife Linda Lawson and Chris Daniels. Centered around the original music of Mark and Chris (co-nominees for a Grammy Award in 2013) two acoustic guitars, keyboards and harmonies that channel CS&N at their best and Pentangle.

The first time I played the Telluride bluegrass festival was 1975 with Magic Music. Then from 1981 to 1991 I played it with Newgrass and Russel Smith, David Bromberg and Al Kooper to name only a few, For the past 12 years I’ve served as the MC for the festival and had the joy of sitting in with Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Leftover Salmon and many more. It’s a long weekend and a ton of work but a total joy. Best folks to work for ever!!

Lyons is this great little town nestled at the base of the journey to Estes Park or Allenspark. There is a small park where Dave McEntire and the good folks from Oscar Blues put on an outdoor summer concert series that turned out to be one of our favorite shows of the whole summer last year! This year promises to be better than ever.

‘Get your ass over the pass’ used to be the bumper sticker and this is just a blast to play back in Fairplay for the 5th Street Concert Series!! True story - The truck in our band photo - well I drove that truck up to Fairplay with Magic Music in 1974 and played a concert at the Alma Hotel…and just like that ol truck still having fun!

This will be my 25th year working for Telluride Bluegrass. Magic Music played 1975, 1976 with Tim, Dan and Sam and the boyz - and MM got to play Folks Fest in 2018 before Will Luckey passed. I played it with Newgrass Revival, Russell Smith and the Amazing Rhythm Aces, John Cowan and Chris Daniels & The Kings from 1980 to 1991 Friday Night Closer Set and then we did all those After Hour Jams (NOW NIGHTGRASS) with Lyle Lovett, Sam Bela, Peter, Mollie Vince Gil and so many more - then I’ve been the MC SINCE 2015. IT’S BEEN A TOTAL JOY and I’ve been asked to sit in with Leftover Salmon, Sam Bush, Younder so many more - and done sets with Washboard Chaz and Sam. Just don’t get much better dan dat!
EAST MAIN STAGE AT 5:30pm - Parker Days is one of those great Colorado Festivals that run for a bunch of days with a ton of local and national artists - just old fashioned fun. We are playing on the West Stage and happy to be there — hope to see you there!!
